We are excited to be working with one of the UK’s leading food businesses as they look for an exceptional individual to take on the role of Category Manager. This role offers the fantastic opportunity of joining a business that has built great relationships with major multiples and is now growing its business into new and existing channels.
As Category Manager, you will help to develop and implement category strategies used to deliver profitable category growth for brands and own label products across a number of Major Multiple Grocer accounts. You will also be responsible for meeting commercial objectives through the implementation of category and customers plans, with the help of input from Marketing, Insights, Sales and Customer Finance teams. The successful candidate will also analyse continuous ad-hoc market data and shopper/consumer insight for existing and new products, as well as create new and compelling selling stories, to ensure listing and distribution targets are met. You will also be in charge of positive relationship-building both internally and with key retail customers.
We are looking for someone of graduate calibre, with experience in dealing with customers in a FMCG Customer, Category or Insight Management role for one or more of the major supermarkets. You must be able to interpret data and problem solve and use commercial insight and data analysis to build and adapt category plans as well as to meet and exceed various commercial objectives. An ideal candidate for this position will possess excellent influencing skills in order to develop the category and brand by building effective working relationships across the functions. You must be an enthusiastic and hands on individual who is able to work well within a team and communicate clearly and convincingly, to all audiences, ranging from internal team members to senior trade contacts. A full clean driving license is also essential for this role.
