Denholm is pleased to be working on a retained and exclusively basis with First Milk to hire a Commercial Manager to be based from their head office in Glasgow.

First Milk is one of the UK’s largest cheese manufacturers, making up to 55,000 tonnes every year. A co-operative, owned and governed by Scottish farmers, First Milk employs 280 skilled people to collect, process and market members’ milk. A highly commercial entity, First Milk has enjoyed a positive recent transformation and has developed award-winning global partnerships with the likes of Nestle, Ornua, Volac and Fonterra.

They now require a Commercial Manager based in Glasgow.

The Commercial Manager is responsible for driving sales and increasing profit margins; selling a range of premium branded cheese to the regional retail, foodservice, ingredient and export channels. Reporting to the Commercial Director, the Commercial Manager will also have a major input in the management of two manufacturing sites in Scotland - working closely with farmers to ensure all aspects of production - from innovation, supply chain and point of sale are manged effectively.

The successful candidate will have solid branded food and or/drink FMCG sales & marketing, national account and commercial management exposure. He or she will have evidence of significant business development and account management achievements and of creating and executing sales & marketing plans. The role - which is primarily office based – will suit a dynamic, self-starter with a keen eye for detail and a talent for new business generation.
