PR Manager - 12 Month Contract - Edinburgh Area

We are looking for a passionate and enthusiastic PR Manager for a  1-year contract to join a dynamic national retail business.  

Reporting to the Communications Manager, you will have an integral role within the communications team working across a variety of channels including all internal and external PR, social media, corporate brand, CSR and reputation management. As Communications Officer, you will thrive in a hands-on retail environment and have the drive, confidence and persuasive powers to get the best from external PR agencies, charity partnerships and store-based colleagues.  

 

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have a proven track record in PR / Communications
  • Have implemented multifaceted communication programmes and PR campaigns from initial concept through to delivery, within budget
  • Have a background in consumer or retail PR
  • Can demonstrate previous experience in executing successful community engagement campaigns
  • Experience in developing and publicising charity partnerships
  • Worked on both national and regional, local campaigns
  • Are confident in creating collateral including photography, filming, media materials
  • Experience in managing press appointments, shows or events

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Developing and implementing consumer PR strategy both local seasonal campaigns and national product placement
  • Leading on media relations for community programmes across the UK including charity partnerships; identifying proactive opportunities and story ideas to increase profile and brand awareness
  • Managing, briefing and directing external PR agencies
  • Co-ordinate and write content for columns and quotes
  • Management of lifestyle shoots and press shows including asset management and creation of media materials
  • Working as part of a larger retail national organisation
  • Working closely with marketing colleagues on campaigns and commercial teams
  • Support digital team with assets and content
  • Identify digital PR opportunities and blogger engagement
  • Manage consumer in-house press office activity both reactive and proactive and cuttings service
  • Support on corporate and internal communications when required

  • Ability to manage and work within budget and within deadline
